Hi! My name is Arianne Sorreta and I am Mrs. Murray. You may be wondering why I have different names. Long story short, I kept my maiden name when I got married, but when I volunteered in school for my children I went by the the last name that matched them. It was only supposed to be a one year gig, but I have been teaching art since 2013 so the name stuck! Hundreds of kids know me by “Mrs. Murray” so I just use it as my art teacher persona.
While I am able to teach art to all levels and age groups – my particular passion is in teaching kids that are identified as gifted and talented. Having four children that fit that description and being identified myself, I have both practical experience and a deeper understanding of struggles that this particular population experiences. This is especially in apparent in art and the struggle of asynchronous development.
